Medical Services

The Marketplace Medical Centre is devoted to providing excellent care to each and every patient. For this reason, we offer a variety of services for existing and new patients alike.

Immunizations

Children receive specific immunizations at different ages. Children who attend primary or secondary school in Ontario must be immunized against certain diseases. Several vaccines can be given at the same time.

Pharmacy

Our in-house pharmacy provides exceptional service for anyone needing teaching on a new prescription. They offer services in a number of languages including English and Arabic.

Maternity

Most pregnant people see a doctor every month for a prenatal checkup. You may see our doctors more often if you have a preexisting health condition or high-risk pregnancy.

Family Planning

Promotion of family planning – and ensuring access to preferred contraceptive methods for women and couples – is essential to securing the well-being and autonomy of women, while supporting the health and development of communities.

Employment Physicals

A pre-employment physical exam may be requested to ensure new hires are physically capable of performing their work and meet general health standards. These exams compare the health of the potential employee with the expected demands of the job, to ensure that the individual is fit to do the job.

Ear Syringing

Ear irrigation is a routine procedure used to remove excess earwax, or cerumen, and foreign materials from the ear. Too much earwax or hardened earwax can cause a blockage in the ear, resulting in earaches, ringing in the ears, or temporary hearing loss.

STD Testing

Most of the time, STDs have no symptoms. Testing is the only way to know for sure if you have an STD. So if you’ve had sexual contact with another person, talk with a doctor about getting tested.

First-Aid Treatment

Minor injuries happen every day. Anything from a cut on your finger while chopping vegetables to a child’s scrape from a fall, we can help.

Oral Contraceptives Teaching

Oral contraceptives (birth control pills) are medications that prevent pregnancy. They are one method of birth control. There are different types of combination birth control pills with different common side effects. To learn more information, speak to one of our doctors.

Pediatric Care

We offer medical care of infants, children, and adolescents from birth up to the age of 18.  The paediatrician manages physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the children under their care at every stage of development, in both sickness and health.

Physicals

A thorough physical measures important vital signs -- temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate -- and evaluates your body using observation, palpitation, percussion, and auscultation.

Newborn Checkup

American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends babies get checkups at birth, 3 to 5 days after birth and then at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 months.

Third-Party Forms

In certain cases, you may require a third party form to be completed and sealed by a physician to validate registration or degree confirmation. We complete a variety of third party forms. Contact us for more information.

Chronic Disease Management

Chronic disease management is a specialization that allows doctors to apply their practical knowledge to create patient care programs for chronic conditions. This includes planning an individualized intervention plan, educating patients on self- management plans, and assessing a patient’s condition based on outcome tools.

Cancer Screening

Screening means checking your body for cancer before you have symptoms. Getting screening tests regularly may find breast, cervical, and colorectal (colon) cancers early, when treatment is likely to work best. Lung cancer screening is recommended for some people who are at high risk.

Sick Notes

If you woke up feeling sick and cannot make it to work or school, our doctors can provide a sick note for you for short absences. Bring any specific forms that need to filled out with you.

Driver’s Physical

You will be required to bring your driver’s license and any documentation sent to you by the Ministry of Transportation.

Worker’s Comp

Despite everyone's best efforts, accidents can happen in any workplace. Workers' Compensation programs protect employees from the financial hardships associated with work-related injuries and occupational diseases. Any claims you have, we can help you work through.
